4 Tips to Boost Your Google My Business Profile

We all know that the key to success for small businesses is visibility. With social media, content marketing, and SEO driving traffic online, there are more ways than ever before to get your business in front of people and convert them into customers. One way you can increase visibility--especially if you're a local company--is by boosting your Google My Business profile. 

This post will give you four tips on how to do just that!

  • First, let's start with what is Google My Business? It's a free tool that helps you manage your business across the web, making it easier to share updates and respond quickly.
  • Second, start by getting verified with Google+. Once this verification has been completed, additional options will be available on your profile: more photos (including 360-degree images), videos, reviews, and promotions. You can also add links to other websites like Twitter or Facebook for extra exposure.
  • Thirdly, create an eye-catching photo of your company logo in a striking background so people know instantly who you are when they see them online. This one change alone could increase traffic from mobile visitors searching for businesses nearby!
  • Finally - make sure that you update regularly with fresh content about what's going on with your business. Then, after you post, go to your Google My Business dashboard and respond quickly to any reviews or messages that come in.

Now we'll look at some tips for boosting our profile on the world's most popular search engine - Google.

  • First of all, make sure you are logging in to Google+ regularly. As with other social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter, updates here will show up on your company page online so people can see them without clicking over from another site. Additionally, adding photos (including 360-degree images), videos, reviews, and promotions are a great way to attract more attention when customers are browsing locally.
  • Secondly, once verified by Google+, be sure to take advantage of additional opportunities within their platform such as uploading more photos,  adding social media links, and linking your website.
  • Third, keep in mind that Google+ is a great way to maintain relationships with customers who may be looking for business recommendations - so make sure you are sharing content that is likely to interest them on their timeline as well.
  • And finally, and this idea might sound counterintuitive at first: don't always use the property's name or address when adding locations! We want people to find us by our services we offer rather than where we happen to live (or work). This will also help if there are several businesses of the same type near one another since it provides more context about what they do!
